Christmas

Well I'm just a little late but maybe its because I was needing divine inspiration?? Who knows, we had a great Christmas with just our little family and the kids have had so much fun playing with what they got. Makena was so happy to see her camera that she just shoved the doodle pad out of the way to see and play with it. She got clothes and some bath toys. She got the best princess dress up set from Grandma Babcock, and that was the first thing she wanted to put on after all the presents were open. Tanner got what every little boy or at least my little boy loves, Cars and more cars. He also got a big tonka dump truck and has oh so much fun playing. I hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas and that the New Year will bring you great cheer!

Sunday best and Santa

Its that time of year where we like to buy our kids new church clothes and we found the cutiest stuff for both of them. We got Makena's dress at Target and looked all over for something for Tanner, We finally found his at The Children's Place. They both looked really cute and were both well behaved during church.

On Friday we went to the local bank and saw Santa, Makena was super excited to see him and ran up and jumped on his lap and was all sweet and asked for barbies and Tanner wanted nothing to do with him until he saw what Makena was getting. Once he figured out that all he has to do is sit on his lap to get a bag of goodies he went and sat long enough for them to take a picture and get his bag of candy and then he was off in a jiffy. But at least I got a few pictures before he began to cry again.

Ornament Exchange

I am a member of an LDS mommies message board and received this beautiful Santa!! Thanks so much Becky.

Finance Genius

This is a great site that has all our financial needs in one convenient place. They offer lots of information and help on anything from student loans to car insurance and even Gap Insurance which is something that we have always had added to our insurance. With my Husband going to school we have acquired some student loans and I'm sure that once he is done they are going to be quite big but with FinanceGenuis they offer some great tips and opinions on how to help get these loans paid off. And if your like me which I hope there are none of you out here, I have the hardest time keeping to a budget and making sure that we get the things we need and then a few wants ever once in a while. I am glad to know that there is help out there for me.

Our Tree

We finally got our tree put up and a few decorations put on. We didn't go over board and just put a few that we really love. So I took a few pictures of them and here they are.
Our Tree. Its to tall to put our Angel up.

We received this from my MIL shortly after we were married and its always on our tree!
One of the few bulbs we have, it says Joy
We got this one at the Humpherys' christmas party a few years ago. It was sent while my Aunt and Uncle were Mission Presidents in Tawian.
Makena made this in Primary this past Sunday. She had so much fun making it.
These next two are from Aunt Leslie, Her sons favorite ornament is these ornaments by Christopher Radko and they are the most beautiful ornaments I have ever seen.

Finally updating

I can't believe that its been a week since I last posted something wither it be a paid post or just something happening here. So I finally got pictures off my camera and I thought I would share some of those with you as some are REALLY funny!!!! Lots has happened since I last posted, We put up our christmas tree, and we lost 3 members of our household. My mom and Step-dad and buddy the dog moved to Utah. Around the time they first found out that my grandma was not doing well they started getting things ready so that they could move out their before she passed and spend some time with her. Well things didn't go quite that way and she passed before they could get the things done. Well Mike had already put in for a transfer and was just waiting to hear and so the week before they moved he called my mom and said I have to be in work in Orem Wed of the next week. So they packed up and left the 7th of Dec. We have missed there company but am glad they are happy.

So that is pretty much the biggest thing that has happened in our lives to date.

My mom was helping makena curtsy she is just the cutiest princess I have ever seen

Honey and Tanner

Tanner eating Spaghetti-o's and it seemed to cover every part of skin that was exposed. Now I just wish that they would both use the silverware that i give them then maybe we woudn't have this problem.

This video was taking after shortly after Makena came out and was showing us what "Alvin" was doing on the commerical for the Alvin and the chipmunk movie that is coming out. I was almost to the point I was rolling on the floor laughing because she was sooo funny. (Sorry that it is sideways).

Christmas tag

I saw this on another blog that I visit and I thought it was really neat and I thought that I would do it so maybe I could feel a little christmasy.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I like both but it depends on the present, If it would be hard to wrap and I don't have a box then a gift bag is the next best thing.
2. Real tree or artificial?
Artificial, but I do love a real tree every now and then. Growing up we always had a real tree and after TJ and I got married we had a real tree until 2 years ago when we finally but the fake tree.
3. When do you put up the tree?
Usually the day or so after Thanksgiving but this year we still don't have our tree up hopefully this weekend
4. When do you take the tree down?
A few days after the New Year
5. Do you like eggnog?
I do
6. Favorite gift received as a child?
I think the ones that I always enjoyed the most were my barbies that I loved to play with so much and a few have made it through all those years and now my girl plays with them.
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
I have several as I have been collecting them, I am so wanting a Willow Tree Nativity but just can't seem to find the money for it just yet
8. Hardest person to buy for?
Probably TJ because he seems to have everything he wants and if he is in need of something he usually just buys it at the time so it leaves me clueless
9. Easiest person to buy for?
I would have to say our kids because it doesn't matter what we get them they always like it
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I really can't think of many gifts that I didn't like but the worst Christmas I remember was the year my parents decided to get a sage brush instead of a Christmas tree. I just remember it stinking and that I was really upset about it. I still to this day hate that "Christmas tree"
11. Mail or email Christmas cards?
Both and it depends on if I have there snail mail address or not
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
I have several, Polar Express, The Christmas Story, Nora's Christmas Gift, How the Grinch Stole Christmas,
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Usually the few weeks before Christmas but this year we are mostly done now and it feels so good not to have that stress of trying to get everything.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
LOL my sister and mom will get this but we have been passing around a bottle of glitter gel around for who knows how long now and if we don't have or can't find the previous bottle we get a new one to send!!! Can't wait to see who gets glitter in there stocking this year!!!
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
I love caramel, peppermint ice cream
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?
White
17. Favorite Christmas song?
I have several, Mannheim Steamroller, O Holly Night, Silent Night, Any of the Children's Songs
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
It depends on where we live I guess, In Utah we would either be at our house or my sisters house, here in Oklahoma we just stay home.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
Yes
20. Angel on the tree top or a star?
Angel holding Stars. Our tree growing up was always an angel where TJ's was a star and so my lovely MIL bought us an Angel holding stars so we could have both
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
We open PJ's Christmas Eve and everything else Christmas Morning,

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
The aggressive shoppers, Seems that they are a little meaner this time of year as they are just trying to get there shopping done
24. Do you buy gifts for your pets?

Nope
25. Have you ever been Christmas caroling?
Yes many times and for our Branch Christmas party we are going caroling!!! I can't wait till tomorrow night, Just hope it stops raining so we can enjoy it
26. Hot chocolate or hot apple cider?

I love both and drink either depending on what we have on hand at the time.

If you would like to share some of your Christmas memories then please feel free.

Oh how I love my kids

Just a few random pictures of my kiddo's. Seems that they are growing up and I love every minuet of it.

Showing of the hat the "Honey" made for him.

I was getting the laundry out of the dryer and before I could be back to take the rest out I had a visitor. Tanner climbed in and made himself comfy!!! Shortly after I grabbed the camera Makena wanted to join in the fun!!

The other night Makena was wanting to watch a movie but didn't want to go in the playroom to watch it so I came up with the clever idea to put the movie on the computer and get the headphones. Lately she hasn't wanted to be to far away from both of us. She was in total heaven because we let her use the computer.

TJ was working on homework the other day and as we was waiting to post his assignment Tanner wanted to help him so he settled in and TJ did his to move Tanners finger to move the mouse. They had such a great time
