Such a slacker

I have been such a slacker about blogging since Jake was born. We have been super busy since he was born and lots of things have happened and to many to blog about and get caught up. So I'll try and summarize as best as I can about what has gone on the last 4 months. I'll post a few bigger events with pictures and what not.

So basically we have been busy with 3 kids and tyring to keep up with everyone. Makena completed kindergarten with flying colors and is so excited to enter first grade and I am looking forward to her being gone all day. She is still a bundle of energy and would rather be out and about running here and there then be home and enjoying being quiet LOL. We took Her in for her well child check and she weighed in at 43.3 lbs and 45 1/2 inches tall.

Tanner is quite the little explorer, he finally enjoys going to the firehouse and checking out the firetrucks and playing on the computers they have there. There are a few guys there that really enjoy Tanner and Tanner really loves them, in fact he is always asking to go to the firehouse so he can see "so and so" Thank heavens his dad loves to go so he gets to go quite often. Tanner has been going to speech therapy and really thriving, he loves his therapist and really looks forward to Friday so he can go to speech. We took Tanner in for his 4 year check up and he weighs 35lbs and was 40 inches tall.

Jake is growing like a weed, he is rolling over and loves to get up on his side and scoot his knees under him then roll back over. He is very pleasant and really only cries when he is hungry or poopy! He loves to talk and do his version of blowing raspberry's. He loves his toes and is getting ready to start solids. I love that he is a cuddly boy and that he wants him mommy. We go in for his 4 month appointment at the end of the month so I'll update his weight and such then.

TJ is still loving his job at Farmers Pride and as well as working at the fire department. He is teaching the 14-18 year old youth in our church and they love him. Just hope one of the girls will be willing to babysit one of these days hee hee.

I am doing good, just doing the same old thing keeping kids at bay and doing what I can to keep a happy home.

Now that we have been in PA for a year I love it even more then when we first got here. its been nice living closer to family and the area is just beautiful. I love living close to many different places to go and explore. We have been to DC and Baltimore, and have plans to go to Philadelphia and New York City.

Well I'll get working on some posts with pictures and such to try and bring us up to speed as to where we are and what we have been doing!!

Our new little bundle of Joy!

We are happy to announce the birth of our third child Gery Jacob Babcock! We will be calling him Jacob. Gery is my fathers name and Jacob comes from the Babcock side. Anyways he weighed in at 7 lb 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long he is my biggest and and almost a pound bigger then Tanner who weighted 6 lb 15 oz and he was also an inch longer then both the other 2. I feel great for being 2 weeks post delivery and I tack that to having a good nights sleep the night before the induction and only having to push a total of 9 minutes yep I said 9 minutes. Anyways here are some pictures from his birthday.

The birth story.
I went in to see the doctor on Monday Feb 8th because I had been in labor for 3 days and knew my body or mind could not make it much longer. Anyways while there she stripped my membranes again and I found out that I was 4 cm and 70% so I had progressed some during all of this but still wasn't having consistent contractions. So we set up the induction for the next morning at 6am. I started having stronger contractions Monday night but still they were not getting any closer and I was able to get some sleep Monday night. We woke up early Tuesday morning and called the hospital to make sure we were still ok to come in. They ended up calling us back like 5 mins later saying come in an hour later. We get to the hospital, check in and they get me all hooked up and the anesthesiologist came in and did his thing so I could get my epidural (cool side note the anesthesiologist was LDS and grew up in North Logan). So after receiving my epidural they broke my water about 9 am, but because he was so far engaged no fluid came out so they had a hard time even telling if they had broken the bag of water. They let me labor like this for 2 hrs and after that my contractions were still 2-5 mins apart and I had only dilated 1 cm. So around 11 am they gave me the smallest dose of Pit they could to help get the contractions more consistent. For some reason my right side had a harder time staying numb then my left so I rolled on to my right side to have gravity help the epidural move to my right side. Well after an hour or so they wanted to empty my bladder so I rolled back over and nurse did her thing and when she was finished I was like oh there is a lot of pressure and so she went and got the doc, she checked me and I was complete and +1 and its maybe 12:45 ish by this time. We decided to labor for a little bit to see if he would move down on his own and shortly after another doc came in with the resident and wanted to see if i could push him down some. So with the next contraction I pushed and he was like "OK" and he was out the door to get the other doc that would be helping the resident and my OB deliver the baby. So by this time its about 1:00 ish and she wanted to see how I did pushing so again with the next contraction I pushed and she said stop and told the others to break down the bed and got dressed. I started pushing at 1:02 and he was born at 1:11pm it was maybe a total of 6 or so pushes and he was out. They put him up on my tummy and TJ got to cut the cord. After that they did the normal baby stuff and weighted him and they even gave him his bath right their in our delivery room which I thought was very cool since that is always the part I missed with them going to the nursery. He weighted in at 7 lbs and 10 oz and was 19.5 inches. He latched right on and has been such a great nurser. Over all he has been the quickest delivery but by far the longest labor

Tanners Birthday

It has been a wild and fun 4 years with this little boy, Starting off life with a week stay at 17 days old with RSV, then a move to Oklahoma where we spend 3 years and now here we are in PA. You have grown up so much, achieved so much and are constantly on the go,
until your little body says "I need sleep." You are such a joy to our family and we could not be complete without having you with us. We love you and are excited that you are going to be a big brother and what a wonderful big brother you are going to be!!

We asked him what kind of cake he wanted and he always said a race car cake so this is what we came up with! Thanks for Grandma who did the decorating of this cake!!
He was so excited for his cake and couldn't wait for Grandpa and Great Grandm
a and Great Grandpa to show up so we could open presents and eat cake.

Such a cutie

Still waiting for Grandpa to show up

She was so happy to help celebrate his birthday

Finally its time to blow out the candles!

Opening presents

His cool woody video game

He had found one of TJ's old airplanes and loved taking it everywhere he went, so we found him some airplanes he could take home and play with.

This has to be his favorite present, Its like the fishing game but with the aliens from Toy Story. He has played that thing so much i'm surprised the batteries are not dead yet.

The beautiful quilt he got from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa.

Getting ready for cake and ice cream

Great Grandpa and Great Grandma watching Tanner open presents
Grandpa enjoying his grandson opening his presents
The kids playing with his fishing alien game

here is a video of us singing to tanner and him blowing out his candles, (don't forget to turn off the music)

New Years

New Years was fun this year!! We went over to a members home and played games, ate food and just enjoyed each other's company.

The kids playing
The adults playing a game

Shortly before midnight Tanner crashed so this is how he rang in the new year!
Makena after midnight
Watching what ever was on after the ball dropped.
Us ladies visiting waiting for the boys to finish their game
This is where the boys mostly were. Enjoying the new TV while playing PS3

I love that the girls had to be right in the middle while they were playing.

We had so much fun sledding while in NY for Christmas. Here are just a few pictures and videos of the kids going down the hill.

Climbing up to come down. It was slippery and they had to pretty much crawl on their hands and knees to get up to the top!! WTG Dad for trekking up with them.
Makena getting ready to head down.
This is probably the only picture I got of Tanner, He was so fast and was either facing away from me or walking back up the hill but I did some video of him.
TJ wanted to join in the fun so he went down but didn't get his feet up enough and was covered in snow
Tanner chasing after his runaway sled
Another Crash
Pure joy!!
Grandpa hitching a ride with Tanner
Makena riding with TJ

Just us
The kids getting pulled to the Tahoe so we could go get some donuts and head home to warm up!

We had so much fun and I even went down just a little part of the hill with each of the kids and it was so much fun. I can't wait to go sledding again with them and hear them laugh and not care about rolling or crashing into the snow!!

Turn the music off so you can hear them laughing.
