Summer Fun

2 weeks ago at Sonic was having a customer apperication night and was giving away free rootbeer floats so we went and had a great. The kids were having a great time and loved every minuet of there floats.

I was looking through the Family Fun magazine and they had this really cool experiment to try. So Makena and I got everything we needed set out to have some fun!! Its called Fireworks in a glass!!! You take a clear glass with room tempture water and in another glass add 3 tbs oil and a 1-2 drops of each red and blue food dye. Carefully mix the oil and dye till there are little droplets and a few large droplets of dye. Add the oil to the water and sit back and watch (it may take a little bit for the dye to drop through the oil) as the dye creates what looks like fireworks!!!!!

Chickens

So the other day TJ went out to DeQueen, AR to throw chickens with his boss and his family. So after he left with his boss to head over there I got the kids ready and we took off shortly after so that we could see what they do but not spend the whole time there tring to keep the kids out of the chicken houses and whatnot. Well we got there and they had one house to finish so we got to watch them and its quite an experience. First the houses are really hot and smelly, Second they really do throw the chickens to wake them up so that they will look for food and won't die. So here are a few pictures of our day out at the chicken houses and the kids had a great time. Makena loved watching the chicks and even got to hold them. Hopefully we will go back in a few weeks to show her how they have changed.

The kids taking a ride on the ATV after finishing up in the chicken house!! They both had a blast riding

College Bound!!

After many years of going back and forth on whether or not to go to college TJ had finally made the choice and is going to start college!! I"m so happy for him and I know that he will be a great student and with everything online he doesn't have to go to the college and take that time away from his family or job. I know he is going to be busy studying but I know that he will do just fine!! He will be getting his BS in business administration from Colorado Tech University. He should be done in 3 years with his associates as well as his bachelors. I will keep everyone updated with his progress and whatnot!!! So keep a prayer in your hearts as he starts this new adventure!!!

Library fun

We have had a blast this past winter going to the library and attending Storytime. I just wish I would have started going earlier then we did because Makena had a blast and loved going every week. Well with summer approching they end the storytime and get ready for the summer reading program so last week was our last storytime till winter. We had so much fun reading, coloring, painting and getting to know new friends!!

They have this really neat courtyard with a pond and waterfall, its so pretty and the kids had a great time outside.

Update!!

Wow its been a while since i last put stuff on our blog, I guess getting those pictures up wore me out!!! Anywho, things here in OK are heating up and some days it just seems to hot to go outside, or its raining so hard you don't want to go outside and get wet. We have had some really good thunderstorms here and its amazing how much water comes down in just a short period of time, nothing like what i have experienced in Utah. Well an update on all of us.

Tanner is doing great, talking more each day and has started to say Kena but sounds more like "ninna" but oh so cute. Its funny to see him search for me if i have left the room and to hear him call "ma ma" and hear his little feet aginst the hardwood floor. 2 more months then its Nursery!!!!!!

Makena is such a fireball its great, she keeps me on my toes with what she says and does all the time. She is starting to count to 20 and does a really good job, now we still have to work on reconizing the numbers and letters but we are getting there. She is so sweet and loves being in Sunbeams even though she is the only one and can't wait to go see her teacher.

I am just truging along, keeping peace in the house and watching my kids grow up. I am still the CTR B teacher and have really enjoyed teaching those kids and watching them grow and blossom.

TJ is doing great and still really likes his job, He is still working nights so thats been hard to keep the kids quiet so he can get the rest he needs but we do our best. He is currently the assistant decon and assisant scout master and has really had a great time being with the boys and right now they are working on their golf merit badge so TJ has had a really great time teaching the boys one of his passions!!

I should be posting some more pictures soon just need to get them transfered from the camera to the computer, but just wanted to let everyone know whats up here and that we are doing well!!

The drive there!!

So we finally started our day at 9am leaving Broken bow. We knew we were in for a long drive but we didn't know it was going to take 11 hrs instead of the 9 hrs we were planning. Tanner had a really hard time sitting in his seat and wasn't in to watching any movies and was just scream and scream.......... Finally we did find a move that he liked and I was able to turn around enough to rub his hands and feet and that seemed to comfort him.

Kena had enough of me taking pictures of her

Tanner happy

Tanner's finally had it!

THere was this cool church on the way, just out side of Little Rock, AR. I had to take a picture because its just so big. Its the First Penecostal Church
