Tagged

My good friend Jannah tagged me!!

A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: I was 17 and was loving the freedom of being able to drive myself everywhere. Was a Junior in high school, on the basketball team, and loved hanging out with my friends

5 things on my to-do list today:
1. Get the kids to pick up their toys yet again
2. went to the grocery store to get the things i needed for dinner
3. Cool dinner
4. Took a Shower
5. get a load of laundry done
Snacks I enjoy: Candy, Ice Cream, apples, string cheese
What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: oh the many dreams I have, I would get us out of debt, pay off TJ's student loans, go on a great vacation, buy another car and possibly a house if I knew where we would be spending the rest of our lives.
3 of my bad habits:
1. bitting my nails, though I don't do it often just when I'm really nervous or stressed
2. not getting the dishes done that night
3. Not spending enough quality time with my kids
5 places I have lived:
1. Redmond, UT
2. Summit, UT
3. Campbell, CA, Ephraim, UT
4. Logan, UT
5. Broken Bow, OK
5 jobs that I have had:
1. Worked with the BSA as a ranger at boy scout camp during the summers
2. Customer service for a moving company in CA
3. cleaned the school at snow college
4. housekeeper in UT
5. Customer service for a car accessory place in Logan
5 Things people don't know about me:
1. I have a major fear of calling people on the phone, I do it but i get really nervous and my hands start to sweat and i pace while talking on the phone.
2. I love to play the piano and really enjoy it. I am scared to death of playing in front of people and now I get to because of my calling with primary
3. I love to read but I am picky about what I read, I'm not a fan of books like the ones Nora Roberts writes I love christian or LDS if I can find them fiction. I would read all day if my kids would allow it and have been known to stay up all night to finish a book that I can't put down.
4. I wish I had more will power to get back in to shape, but I'm all talk and no action, I'm hoping that I will get my bum in gear and at least go walking during the day a few times.
5. I am not a cook and I really do hate cooking, Its just something I would rather not do but I LOVE collecting cook books and looking through them to try and find something quick and simple so if anyone has some great recipes they would like to share please do.

I tag anyone who would love to share!!!

The working of our new addition

I finally remembered to take my camera to church last week so I could get pictures of them working on our new addition to our very small building!! Next time I'll get a picture ofour building so you can see how small it is. So here is what I have so far they just layed the foundation! Hopefully next week when we go they will have something new to take a picture of.

Tanners Birthday

This year for his birthday TJ was out of town so we waited till he got home to give him his presents and have cupcakes. We got him a big elmo and while TJ was in PA he went to Chocolate World and picked him up a teddy bear and a shirt from there. He had a wonderful 2nd birthday!!!
The shirt that dad got from Chocolate World.
Both kids in there new shirts!
Watching as dad brings in Elmo
Givin Elmo a hug!!!

He was so ready for bed and didn't want anything to do with blowing out his candles, but his big sister came to the rescue and blew them out for him!

Once he got a chance to eat it he was a happy camper. The next day I had asked Makena to go check on him and she said "oh mom you have got to come here and see what Tanner is doing" Well this is what I found him doing. He had gotten the frosting off the counter and had opened the lid and was digging in!!

and he loved every minute of it!!

Tanner and his cars

Tanner with his cars he got for Christmas, He thought it would be fun to put them down in onesie.
Showing mom what he was doing!!
Trying to escape.

Starting to fish them out!
Fishin' for cars!
Still fishin'
Checking to see if there are any left.
None left lets start over!!
Moving around to add more

Checking to see if they are all there and in place!!

He has had soooo much fun with these cars and I usually find them all over the house or even stepping on them which hurts. LOL!!!

What is wrong with me??

I have been the worst at blogging lately and I have been meaning to update for quite some time but have had a big shalump (is that even a word??) Any who, I was planning this great big post about the great opportunity that we got to move to PA and be closer to family. Well that didn't happen as they offered the job to the other guy that was already in the Tyson plant, I guess that is Heavenly Fathers way of telling us that we are to stay here in OK. So it has taken me a while to be able to even want to post about anything as I have had a really hard time with not being chosen and the reality that I am staying in the South. I just wish i had a great reason as to why I don't really like the area here but I can't think of much except the bugs and the heat. So now is my chance to change my attitude about the area as I know we will be here for a while now. So enough of the boring day to day stuff I have tons of pictures to post and lots to accomplish now that we are staying here. So I am going to do my best to get pictures posted and to keep my blog updated with the happenings of Life in the South. Its nice to know that as my family in Utah is still enjoying or at this point ready to run for the warm weather, we are starting to warm up and have had quite a few days lately were all we wore were t-shirt's and could have gotten away with shorts. I guess that is one good reason for living in Southern Oklahoma is that it does get cold for about a month or so but warms back up and we get to enjoy spring around March or so, but come July and August its all you can do to keep yourself cool. Well I'll end this post on a high note and pray that I am not getting the cold that seems to be creeping upon me. So check back and I'll have some funny pictures of the kids with a great recipe for play doe that we got last week at story time. Night all

Oh my

Well I knew living in the south ment that we would be having nice weather pretty much year round I really didn't expect to have such great weather the first if January. A few days ago it was in the mid 70's and then it got cooler last night but today is again beautiful. I guess that is one of the best things about living here. Oh and they have begun work on expanding our branch building!! If I remember right it should be complete by May. I'm excited to see a bigger building as it makes it tough to crowd all of us in one hallway after church. YEAH!!!!

Art Gallery

I love the look of having some great art in homes and one of my goals is to own a few pieces of fine art. I have always wanted to attend an art auction and to feel the great buzz of those who appreciate great art. At Park West Gallery they offer art auctions all throughout the United States and Canada so the chances of attending one of these auctions are great. Through their affiliate Park West at Sea they offer art auctions at sea, and who wouldn’t love to be at sea and to attend an art auction. The Park West Art gallery is a great place to look for fine art and with their large selection to choose from finding the best piece of art for your home is easy.

Happy Birthday my little man

I have thought long and hard about what I wanted to say to you as you turn 2 today. You have been the next best thing to happen since your big sister was born. You are the light of our lives and you have so much love in your heart for anyone that walks through our door. You love to be in a place that lets you run and just be free (even better if you can be in your birthday suit). Tanner you have so much love for your big sister that I can't wait to see the love you show each other as you both get older. She can make you laugh like no one else can and i love listening to you play together. I have so much to say and I just can't seem to find the exact words to write it do so i'll just show some pictures of your life so far and if I can think of more to write I will. I love you so much son and i'm happy that you are in our family and that you chose us as your parents!! Love, Mom Dad and Makena

p.s. I'll post birthday pictures this weekend sometime so check back to see those

Happy New Year 2008

Well what a wild year it has been. We had such a great year and have grown so much. We survived another year in Oklahoma and missed out on the ice storm that came through the beginning of the month. YEAH!!! We have had only 1 tornado warning and that was the first year we were here so I'm grateful that this year didn't bring us nearly as bad of storms. We were able to enjoy a week and a half in Utah to attend my brother's wedding and to see friends. We also spend a week in St. Louis during Easter to attend my Sister-in-law's wedding and enjoy the Babcock side of the family. Shortly after we got back TJ went to visit with a Tyson plant in PA, and was offered a job but was not approved as it was a same level transfer and Tyson believes that its stealing talent from other plants when they want to transfer like that. Well TJ has kept in great contact with them and has built a great relationship with them and has applied for a GPM position there and will be going back to PA tomorrow (Wednesday) to do his final interview with the Complex Manager. So keep us in your prayers that we will have good new and we will be able to move there and be closer to TJ's parents who will only be 5 hrs away in stead of many many more. We had a pretty boring new years as we didn't have some place to go or any people coming over. So we had our only little party with the kids, we went to sonic and got ice cream, came back and played the Wii and then watched New Year's Rockin' Eve with Dick Clark, for some reason we watched the ball drop at 11 our time 12 NY time and they didn't show the ball drop again here so I'm glad that I got to see it even if it wasn't midnight yet. The new ball is so cool!!!! Tanner was asleep long before any of the excitement happened and Makena fell asleep shortly before midnight,(she has always been our night owl) I fell asleep short before midnight too and told TJ to wake me up and he did. We went to sleep shortly after. I know I know we are such party poopers. I hope that this new year will bring many new adventures and lots of surprises. I will keep everyone posted about the Job and will hopefully be posting with really good news!!

Have a safe and happy 2008
